so im on a scholarly journal.
they say it will help me get a job.
you have to apply and be accepted and all that mumbo jumbo and im on the second best one at school.
its a lot of work.
we edit articles that are submitted to our journal and publish them to be used all over the nation in law libraries and on the legal search engines to be used as credible reference for other articles. its really just ridiculous because its one big cycle.
well on top of editing and doing all the grunt work.
we have to write our own publishable article during our "candidate year" which is 2L year (this year) for me.
it must be based on international law, be at least 60 pages, and every sentence MUST be substantiated by another source. nothing i say can be my own opinion without me finding someone else who has shared the same opinion.
its really bizarre, but i guess it lends to the credibility of what im saying? thats what they say anyway.
twenty pages are due monday.
yikes.
we had to get our topic approved and ive turned in a large number of sources to prove that i can write about this for sixty pages.
im writing about international surrogacy in india.
its pretty much totally unregulated and they do all kinds of bizarre things to get their millions of dollars annually.
its kind of disturbing and at least interesting to research.
anyway. i usually write at a pace of one page per hour with all the substantiating - so im looking at at least twenty hours of work in the next two days.
so i got myself this:
and ive turned on this:
and im ready to rumble.
what am i even talking to you for anyway ;)
i guess its bette than the alternative.
oh oh oh and i almost forgot.
im actually surprised that it has taken this long. but i confronted someone in school i don't even know for gossiping about me. :) it was fun because the rumors she was starting were totally and obviously false. you see, she's in love with one of my best friends.
and well, he's one of my best friends. sometimes jealousy gets the best of us. especially when you're a psycho like she is. just throwing that out there.
high school rumors and drama are really irritating when your 28.
so i told her to grow up and leave me alone.
here's to hoping it works.
wish me luck.
until next time
